Privacy Policy

Introduction

Rufino Group (Pty) Ltd ("we", "us", or "our") operates the GoRoll mobile application ("App"). We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling any information we come into contact with in a responsible, transparent, and lawful manner.

This Privacy Policy explains what information is collected when you use GoRoll, how it is used, who it may be shared with, and what choices you have. By downloading or using the App, you agree to the practices described in this Policy.

This Policy applies to GoRoll as distributed on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store and governs all versions of the App on iOS and Android devices.

1. Who We Are

GoRoll is developed and published by Rufino Group (Pty) Ltd, a company registered in the Republic of South Africa.

If you have any questions about this Privacy Policy or how your data is handled, you may contact us at:

Rufino Group (Pty) Ltd

Email: raeesahrufino@gmail.com

2. Information We Collect

GoRoll is designed with privacy in mind. The App does not require you to create an account, log in, or provide any personal information to use its core features. We do not directly collect your name, email address, phone number, or any other personally identifying information.

The following categories of information may be collected, either by us or by third-party services integrated into the App:

2.1 Information collected automatically

When you use the App, certain technical information may be collected automatically by third-party services, including:

  • Device identifiers (such as advertising ID or IDFA/GAID);

  • Device type, model, and operating system version;

  • App version and session duration;

  • General usage patterns (such as how often the App is opened and features used);

  • General geographic location derived from IP address (country or region level only — not precise location); and

  • IP address.

This information is collected by Google AdMob for the purpose of serving advertisements and measuring ad performance. We do not collect or store this information independently on our own servers.

2.2 Information you provide

GoRoll does not include any forms, registration screens, or input fields that collect personal information from you directly. Any preferences you set within the App (such as number of dice, sound settings, or colour theme) are stored locally on your device only and are not transmitted to us.

2.3 Information we do not collect

We do not collect or process:

  • Your name, email address, or contact details;

  • Financial information or payment details;

  • Sensitive personal information such as health data, biometrics, or government-issued identifiers;

  • Precise geolocation data; or

  • Any content you create or share outside of the App.

3. How We Use Information

Because we do not directly collect personal information, our own use of data is minimal. Information collected via third-party services integrated into the App (such as Google AdMob) is used for the following purposes:

  • To display advertisements within the App that support the free availability of GoRoll;

  • To measure advertisement performance and engagement;

  • To detect and prevent fraud and abuse; and

  • To improve the stability and performance of the App through aggregated, anonymised analytics.

We do not use any information to build personal profiles, make automated decisions about you, or market to you directly.

4. Advertising and Google AdMob

4.1 How advertising works in GoRoll

GoRoll is a free application supported by in-app advertising. Advertisements are served by Google AdMob, a platform operated by Google LLC. Interstitial (full-screen) advertisements are displayed periodically during your use of the App.

4.2 Data collected by Google AdMob

Google AdMob may collect and use your device's advertising identifier and other technical data to serve personalised or non-personalised advertisements. Google's collection and use of this data is governed by the Google Privacy Policy, which you can review at: https://policies.google.com/privacy

We do not have access to, or control over, the data that Google AdMob collects independently. We receive only aggregated, non-identifiable reporting from Google regarding advertisement impressions and performance.

4.3 App Tracking Transparency (iOS users)

If you are using GoRoll on an iOS device, the App will present Apple's App Tracking Transparency (ATT) prompt when you first launch the App. This prompt asks for your permission before your device's advertising identifier (IDFA) is used to serve personalised advertisements.

  • If you select "Allow": your IDFA may be used by Google AdMob to serve personalised advertisements relevant to your interests.

  • If you select "Ask App Not to Track": your IDFA will not be used for personalised advertising. You will still see advertisements in the App, but they will not be based on your activity across other apps and websites.

You can change your ATT preference at any time by navigating to Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking on your iOS device.

4.4 Android advertising ID

On Android devices, Google AdMob may use your Google Advertising ID (GAID) to serve advertisements. You can reset your advertising ID or opt out of personalised advertising at any time by navigating to Settings > Google > Ads on your Android device.

5. Cookies and Similar Technologies

GoRoll itself does not use cookies. However, third-party services integrated into the App, including Google AdMob, may use cookies, SDKs, pixels, or similar tracking technologies on your device to collect and store information. These technologies help third parties recognise your device and deliver relevant advertisements.

For more information about how Google uses these technologies, please refer to Google's Privacy Policy and Google's Advertising page at: https://policies.google.com/technologies/ads

6. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party. Information may be shared only in the following limited circumstances:

6.1 Third-party service providers

We use Google AdMob as an advertising partner. As described in Section 4, AdMob may collect and process certain technical information from your device in accordance with its own privacy policy. Beyond AdMob, we do not share any information with third-party service providers.

6.2 Legal obligations

We may disclose information if required to do so by law, court order, or other legal process, or if we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to:

  • Comply with any applicable law or regulation;

  • Protect and defend our rights or property;

  • Prevent or investigate possible wrongdoing in connection with the App; or

  • Protect the personal safety of users of the App or the public.

6.3 Business transfers

In the event that Rufino Group (Pty) Ltd is involved in a merger, acquisition, restructuring, or sale of all or a portion of its assets, any information held in connection with the App may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify users of any such change in ownership or control by updating this Privacy Policy.

7. Data Retention

As GoRoll does not collect personal information directly, we do not maintain personal data on our own servers. Your in-app preferences (such as colour theme and sound settings) are stored locally on your device and are deleted when you uninstall the App.

Data collected by Google AdMob is retained in accordance with Google's data retention policies. For information on how long Google retains data, please refer to Google's Privacy Policy.

8. Data Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect the integrity of the App and to minimise the risk of unauthorised access, disclosure, or misuse of any information processed in connection with GoRoll.

However, no method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security. We are not responsible for the security practices of third-party services such as Google AdMob.

9. Children's Privacy

GoRoll is suitable for general audiences, including children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13 (or the applicable age of digital consent in your jurisdiction).

The App does not contain any registration screens, login forms, or input fields that would allow a child to submit personal information directly to us. Any information collected by Google AdMob from users of all ages is subject to Google's policies regarding children's data, including compliance with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) where applicable.

Parents and guardians who believe that their child has provided personal information to us, or who have concerns about the App's data practices in relation to children, are encouraged to contact us at raeesahrufino@gmail.com so that we may take appropriate action.

10. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have certain rights regarding the information collected about you. Under South African law, including the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA), you may have the right to:

  • Be informed about the collection and use of your personal information;

  • Access the personal information we hold about you;

  • Request the correction of inaccurate or incomplete personal information;

  • Request the deletion or restriction of processing of your personal information in certain circumstances;

  • Object to the processing of your personal information; and

  • Lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa.

To exercise any of these rights, or to make a complaint, please contact us at raeesahrufino@gmail.com. We will respond to your request within a reasonable timeframe and in accordance with applicable law.

You may also contact the Information Regulator of South Africa at: https://www.justice.gov.za/inforeg/

For users in the European Economic Area (EEA) or United Kingdom, our legal basis for processing personal data for advertising purposes is legitimate interest (fraud prevention, ad measurement) and, where you grant consent via the in-app prompt, consent for personalised advertising. You may lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority. For EEA users, a full list of supervisory authorities is available at edpb.europa.eu. For UK users, contact the ICO at ico.org.uk.

10.1 Users in the European Economic Area (EEA) and United Kingdom

If you access GoRoll from within the EEA or the United Kingdom, you may have additional rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) or the UK GDPR, including the right to data portability and the right to withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent. Please contact us to exercise these rights.

10.2 Opting out of personalised advertising

Regardless of your location, you may opt out of personalised advertising at any time:

  • On iOS: Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking — disable "Allow Apps to Request to Track"

  • On Android: Settings > Google > Ads — enable "Opt out of Ads Personalisation"

  • Via the Google opt-out page: https://adssettings.google.com

11. Third-Party Links and Services

Advertisements displayed within GoRoll may contain links to third-party websites or applications. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those third parties. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party sites or services you visit through links within the App.

12. International Data Transfers

Google AdMob is operated by Google LLC, which is headquartered in the United States. When AdMob collects data from your device, that data may be transferred to and processed in the United States or other countries outside of South Africa. These countries may have data protection laws that differ from those in South Africa.

Google LLC participates in frameworks designed to ensure appropriate safeguards for international data transfers. For more information, please refer to Google's Privacy Policy.

13. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, the App, or applicable law. When we make material changes, we will update the effective date at the top of this Policy.

We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically. Your continued use of the App after any changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated Policy. If you do not agree to the updated Policy, you should stop using the App and uninstall it from your device.
